Mariana Tuckett
nee
Fox
was born in Falmouth on 12th January 1807. She belonged to a well-known Cornish family, noted for the creation (by Charles Fox and others) of Glendurgan, Trebah and Penjerrick Gardens. She married Francis Tuckett of Frenchay on 29th March 1833, at the Friends Meeting House, Falmouth, and they came to live in the Old House, on Frenchay Common. They had four children: Francis Fox, 1834; Elizabeth Fox, 1837; Mariana Fox, 1839; Charlotte Fox, 1842. A further child, Elizabeth Fox, 1835, did not survive. Mariana died at Falmouth in 1863. |
