Edward John Bisp,

born 1876.

His father was John Bisp, a stone mason at Watley's End, Winterbourne.

And his mother was Annie Gardner.

Edward also became a stone mason and was involved in working on the Severn Railway Tunnel.

Around the turn of the century he moved to the Ogmore Valley, just north of Bridgend, South Wales, where for reasons unknown, he changed his name to William Edward Diamond.

Edward married Elizabeth Jane Thomas on 10 September 1906 at Bridgend; these pictures were taken on their wedding day.

They had sixteen children, all of whom survived.

While in the Ogmore Valley, Edward continued to use his skills as a stone mason and helped to build many buildings in the valley, including Nantymoel Police Station and the local primary school.

Edward died in South Wales on 10 December 1947.
